Keith Smith, BSN, RN

I was admitted to the spinal unit after having back surgery in the UK for rehab. I have never been away from home for very long and it was an adjustment for me. There was one nurse, Keith, who helped me more than anyone. He not only helped me adjust but also always had words of encouragement for me. He always made me feel special and was never too busy to help me with simple things like getting to the bathroom. He always had time to explain things to my husband and me so that we understood them. He eased my husband’s anxiety at discharge and made my discharge easy for my husband and me. God always sends someone to help us through a difficult time. Keith was my angel, a man with a good heart.
