Kellan Berens, LPN

Kellan has been an enormous help in my dad’s care. Dad is a Vietnam veteran, and over the years, he has not expressed himself much. We know that he had or has PTSD.

Dad recently had two brain surgeries and two mild strokes. He has not been able to control his emotions. Kellan has come into his room multiple times and talked to dad with grace and patience while giving dad his dignity back.

Kellan is a gift to our family during a very difficult time. He gave dad the attention that he needed, whether dad was yelling and throwing his bedding off or crying, Kellan was able to talk to him and settle him.

Dad has been talking about Vietnam off and on, more than ever, and Kellan has made an impression on Dad and has taken time to help him. Kellan’s time, patience, and abilities are above the best. His knowledge of handling psych patients is impressive. I am a retired nurse for behavioral pediatrics, and I would have loved to have him on my team. Great job, kiddo. Dad says that Kellan saved his life!
