Nurses touch the hearts of patients and families every day. There is nothing more rewarding than to hear about the impact nurses have from the patients themselves. The IMPACT committee congratulates Kelleigh Staley, RN, CCU, for touching a patient's heart so much that the patient nominated her for a DAISY Award. The patient shared a story of how her stay was not what she had planned and what an impact Kelleigh made during that time.
To quote the nomination, "Her (Kelleigh's) caring, combined with her tender heart toward me, made me feel [totally] comfortable in her caring hands." The patient went on to conclude that Kelleigh's actions reflect great credit upon herself, the CCU's nursing staff, and the Heart Center.
