After a long and emotional journey to grow our family, the day we welcomed our child was one we had dreamed about for years. Although labor had been progressing smoothly, an unexpected moment during the experience triggered an intense emotional response connected to a difficult chapter from my past. I suddenly found myself overwhelmed with fear and unable to regain a sense of control. Keller never questioned my reaction or made me feel embarrassed. Instead, she immediately recognized that I needed support, responded with calm reassurance, and quickly brought additional team members to my bedside to help me feel safe. Her compassion, presence, and ability to meet me where I was in that moment allowed me to focus on welcoming my baby instead of being consumed by fear. What makes Keller's actions even more remarkable is that she had no way of knowing the experiences that contributed to my reaction. She simply led with kindness, empathy, and unwavering support. Her care is a powerful reminder that every patient carries a story we may never know, and that treating every person with compassion can profoundly shape their experience. Because of Keller, one of the most important days of my life remained filled with joy rather than fear. I will always be grateful for the comfort, dignity, and exceptional care she provided.
