Wow, where do I start with Kelley? My husband arrived in CVICU following cardiac surgery and then had a perioperative MI and multiorgan failure which unfortunately resulted in his death. Kelly was one of the wonderful nurses, but Kelly was different and we formed an immediate bond. When she was on, I felt so relieved. Her expertise was amazing. Her knowledge was outstanding, but above all else, her caring demeanor was just unbelievable. She cares for the whole patient; she learned who my husband was as a person. His comfort and care were her #1 concern. She became part of our family. She comforted me as she knew what pain I was going through. She genuinely cared and I knew that. She came the day my husband was to be taken off of life support and I was relieved. She held our hands. She hugged us and she cried with us. She was honest with us about his prognosis but she did it very compassionately. I think she answered hundreds of questions from me and always kept her sweet demeanor. She tackled every task to keep him alive no matter how difficult with grace and caring. I could go on and on, but simply put, she is a “nurse’s hero”. The Best! No doubt about it. She is loving and I will never forget her kindness.

Thank you, Kelley, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
