It was scary to have our loved one in an institution 65 miles from home. We could not be there every day, but Kelli Danielson treated him like he was her grandfather. She spent time getting to know him as a person and not just a patient. I saw her caress the top of his head and speak tenderly to him as he struggled to breathe. She continually asked what she could do for him and also what more she could do for us as a family. He loved being at the VA and talked about the wonderful care he received. Her care and concern made his time there so much easier for us. She made us all feel important and necessary and not just people to deal with.
