Our son E was brought to HDVCH with sepsis. This caused a third open-heart surgery, several other surgeries, and multi-organ failure. We are presently still dealing with kidney issues and the possibility of losing his feet. Kelly has been a bright spot for us. When we first came, she was one of two main nurses who sat in our room throughout her shift. She answered every question with kindness. E always calms when she is around. After we moved off the ICU floor, we asked to stay on the same side of the 7th floor so staff could visit. Kelly checks on us regularly, even playing Nintendo Switch with him if she has extra time. She helped make our months-long stay more like home, especially with new Covid policies in place.
