My mom, at 82 years old, was to get her first port. We were greeted by Kelly who was genuinely caring and so sweet that she put us at ease immediately! She was very attentive to my mom and answered all of our questions.
Unfortunately, mom had multiple complications with her port flipping, etc. and after her 3rd CVIR visit had a new port put in. Needless to say, 3 CVIR visits in 6 days is tiring for anyone, let alone being 82 years old and facing another cancer diagnosis and upcoming treatments. After so many CIVR visits, Kelly seriously became like family. We were beside ourselves with emotions and she comforted us and helped us get through a rough patch. Her genuine caring as a nurse made all the difference! After being an RN for many years she could have easily become hardened to situations. Kelly Boyce is a true daily asset to Ingalls CVIR! Our family would have been lost without her!
