Kelly came into the pre-op area, where my husband was being prepped for surgery, with a smile, a cheery demeanor, and confidence that all would go well. She introduced herself to both of us and told us she would be accompanying him to surgery. Kelly chatted and smiled as she went through her routine, explaining what she was doing and treated us as though we were people-not like she was just preparing a body for surgery. Kelly embodied the spirit of Memorial Hospital-treating the whole patient-spirit, emotional support, as well as physical well-being. Thank you for the opportunity to express our gratitude for the compassion and kindness shown to us. Kelly has gone beyond being exceptional, she made us feel very special, even though my husband was having a procedure that may have seemed routine to some.
