March 2026 Honoree
Kelly "Cat" Catanzaro, BSN, RN
I am 27 weeks pregnant and had to undergo general anesthesia today for kidney stones. After the procedure, I suffered some complications from the anesthesia. I was aware but could not communicate. It was the most terrifying medical experience of my life.
Kelly wasn’t even my assigned nurse, but she came to help and held my hand the whole time. Constantly reassuring me that I was improving and talking me through everything. From my labs to my vitals. She did not leave me until I was stable and breathing independently.
I feel this exemplifies what the DAISY Award is about: above and beyond the standard of care and true compassion.

Thank you, Kelly "Cat", for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
