Kelly was far above a "nurse" in her care for me during my time of breast cancer. Her smile, her winning warm ways, always ready to aid or lend a hand, a listening ear, a warm blanket when I lost all of my hair and I was cold.
Her approach toward patient care made me believe that oncology was more than a job; it was a "calling." Kelly answered that calling again and again in exemplary care. She is always ready, willing and able to be there for others. Her tireless and boundless energy made it seem like you were the first patient of the day. Even so, I knew that she had covered many patients that day, going chair to chair seeing to each person as if they were her one and only.
In a word, Kelly shall always be the one who I realize just how special nurses are to the vital part of health care. For her care and outstanding compassion. I nominate Kelly for the DAISY Award.
