Kelly Fincher is above all else a Nurse First, who truly models the “do unto others…” mindset and actions at work. She practices the disciplines of the healthcare team to ensure her patients have smooth, safe, and successful experiences while also caring for her team and placing everyone's safety first. Her staff, co-workers, and patients are all treated as her personal family and therefore given the utmost care and respect. I feel that it is best to describe Kelly as an amazing leader who:

Creates environments that demonstrate the importance of diversity and inclusion, teamwork, and compassion. She recognizes each team member as individuals and truly cares about their personal needs. She possesses the ability to anticipate demands and surpass them. For her team, Kelly is a solid resource who works diligently to find solutions and provide the best service and care to her patients.

Encourages, motivates, and celebrates enthusiastically all achievements big or small. It is my belief that her staff pulls from her energy. They are inspired by her presence right beside them on those frontlines, as opposed to standing “over” them giving orders from behind a desk. I have witnessed difficult situations faced by her team and right there she is doing her fair share of the grueling work that those in her profession do every day. She is one who leads by example with a hands-on approach and never asks of anything from others that she herself does not do.

She is a mentor and a huge supporter of growth and personal excellence within the team! Under her wing, she can take (both experienced and novice nurses) and guide them into new roles of advancement or assist them with improvements in their current position. Her staff is encouraged daily to pursue advancements in their careers and to continue education and or professional certifications. Several of her employees have received perioperative nursing certificates and higher nursing degrees that were pushed by one of their biggest advocates, Kelly!

Kelly Fincher is in all things an extraordinary person and nurse! I strongly believe nurses who have worked for her or co-worked with her, all strive to be like her in some way. A character as thoughtful, caring, and intelligent as Kelly is highly respected by the team and the entire staff of Kernersville Medical Center.
