My son has been battling T-cell ALL for nearly three years. This spring he faced a relapse that required him to spend two month-long stays at the hospital. Kelly is one of his absolute favorite nurses. She is right there when he is sick to help talk him through it. She can always make him smile with just the right comment or silly story. If she has time, she will even play a game with him. She is an incredible advocate because she knows him so well and is quick to get the doctors to help him when he needs it. He recently graduated high school and missed much of his senior year. Nurses like Kelly who go above and beyond to make sure he is cared for both physically and emotionally make all of the difference. The instant I see Kelly I breathe a sigh of relief because I know that no matter what is happening with my son she is going to make that day a good day. She brings positivity, light, and hope every single time!
