Kelly treated us with kindness and compassion while having an open and honest conversation about end-of-life care.
I met Kelly Gilbert when my father-in-law had a sudden decline in health after suffering from Parkinson’s for over a decade and dementia for over a year. While the progression of the disease was not a shock, the speed at which he declined before his hospitalization was. When he was admitted we were all left wondering what comes next.
We had a meeting with Kelly Gilbert to discuss the goals of care and to complete an advance directive. During the two hours that she spent with us, we were given the tools that we needed to give Pop the best care possible for the remainder of his life. This nurse treated us with kindness and compassion while having an open and honest conversation about end-of-life care. She made a really hard conversation something that was actually beautiful. I cannot thank Kelly enough for all that she gave our family.
We now have a plan for end-of-life care that will keep my father-in-law comfortable and a plan to help my mother-in-law through this difficult time. This nurse was a blessing to our family. She is a wonderful nurse, and her services are greatly appreciated. I hope that she knows how important her work is and the positive impact that it has during really difficult times.
