My son is a frequent flyer and Kelly has been his nurse many times over the past 5 years. On one particular admission, she recognized that he was not coping well and that he was in need to have someone to advocate for him. She used the proper channels to relay to his doctors that it was necessary to treat and manage his pain, monitor his infection and fistulas until the test could get done, and even consult psych because he was not able to deal with the situation. Because Kelly advocated for him he was discharged, but instead, his pain was managed, anxiety was treated and one procedure was performed, and ultimately underwent surgery without any more added stress than absolutely necessary. This is only one example of how Kelly goes above and beyond for our son. She always displays care and kindness.
