After a long and difficult labor and unplanned C-section, I couldn't have asked for a better nurse than Kelly. Her calm and caring demeanor soothed my first-time mom jitters. I am not exaggerating when I say she was my lifeline. She was my dayshift nurse and she worked 7 am-7 pm and I distinctly remember crying as I saw the time slowly creep toward 7 pm each day. I didn't want her to leave me and my baby!
My son and I struggled so much with breastfeeding in the beginning, and Kelly was incredibly supportive and helpful during this time. She went above and beyond what was required of her as my nurse. I can't tell you how much her genuine concern and support meant to me. When my breastfeeding struggles persisted, she advocated for me to stay longer so I could receive additional support. When it was time for us to go home, she gave me her contact information if I ever needed further help or had any questions.
I could go on and on but I'll never forget Kelly's kindness, support, and care for myself and my son. I can only hope that all mothers have a similar experience when delivering at Piedmont Columbus Midtown.
