Kelly James, RN
Kelly always goes the extra mile to help out patients in the ED who need social work help. She is not afraid to approach any problem, whether it be nursing home placement or mental health issues that don't need placement but need help with resources.
Kelly spent multiple hours today working with patient M, who was homeless and in need of resources. M has a history of TBI, which causes him to have bouts of irritability and aggression and causes communication problems with ED providers. M was here for hours, and he had his second visit within a day when I called to request help with getting resources. She was promptly there, calling his mom for help with info, and listened with patience to M's needs, which helped to make him calm! She led the team in getting a safe DC plan and a ride to the next place for help. Thanks for always working so hard to help people find their missing pieces.
