She listens to her patients and empathizes with them – you can see in the patients’ eyes how trusting and appreciative they are of how well Kelly is listening to them and recognizing their feelings.
As a nurse, I wanted to nominate one of the nurses that I work with on a daily basis that never ceases to amaze me. Kelly makes my job easier every day. She is not only so helpful to me, but she is also so helpful to all of her teammates and all of the patients that she comes in contact with. Kelly has a true passion for the job that she does. She is always the FIRST person willing to help, and the LAST person to complain. You can see just how passionate she is about this job through all of the work that she does, and all of the effort that she puts forth each and every shift. Kelly is very empathetic. She listens to her patients and empathizes with them – you can see in the patients’ eyes how trusting and appreciative they are of how well Kelly is listening to them and recognizing their feelings.

Kelly has been an oncology nurse for many years, and you can tell empathy just comes so naturally to her. Kelly is one of the most trustworthy team players that I have ever worked with in my nursing career. You can tell all of the patients and other teammates trust her knowledge and the care that she provides to her patients. If I need help, Kelly is the first person I run to, because she will help willingly regardless of what she has on her plate.

Kelly is a phenomenal nurse to work alongside. I admire her and the work that she does. She is a nurse that came to our department with lots of experience, and I feel so blessed that we were able to snag her. Our department, nursing team, and patients are so lucky to have her, and we all truly appreciate the admirable care that she provides. The love that Kelly has for her patients and her nursing career shines through each and every shift. Kelly always tries to make her patients laugh and smile. She has a funny way of saying things that can turn any sad or awkward situation into a good one. It is easy to see how much Kelly loves her job and her patients. You don’t have to ask her if she enjoys what she does because it just shines through the work that she provides.

Kelly is a prime example of what selflessness is. She is always more concerned with what her teammates and patients need; versus what she needs. As I stated previously, Kelly is the FIRST person to ask if you need help, and the LAST person to complain about it. You can truly tell that Kelly puts her patients' and teammates' needs before her own. Kelly is a nurse who possesses each and every quality of the PETALS criteria for this DAISY Award, and I hope she gets recognized. She totally deserves this.
