Kelly Lee has been a part of St. Anthony for decades. Even though she is no longer a full-time employee, she continues to serve St. Anthony at a high level on a routine basis. She is a true patient advocate and champion to ensuring they receive the care and treatments they need and deserve.

Saturday night, Kelly came on shift and continued advocating for a patient who had left of their own volition earlier in the day. Kelly made it her priority to check in on the patient and keep them updated on the process of arranging for home oxygen. She was a diligent advocate for the patient, making repeated phone calls to an ancillary health care agency to ensure the patient received their home oxygen, knowing the patient had a limited supply sent from the hospital.

The patient called and informed the day house supervisor that they received their oxygen at 2:30 in the morning. I have no doubt that this all happened because of Kelly's perseverance and dedication. She acted out of sheer kindness and beneficence. I’m honored to recommend her for a DAISY Award. She is the definition of service to others and goes above and beyond.
