Her compassionate demeanor left a lasting impression on her patients, the staff, and myself.
In the past six quarters, this student has worked hard through the challenges and pressures of being a nursing student,- clinicals, classes, exams, adapting to various expectations of every professor and peer, and duties and demands of being a parent, spouse, friend, and daughter. Yet, never lost sight of the goal- training to become a compassionate and caring nurse. Always smiling, patient, sensitive to others’ needs, helping others succeed with her, and encouraging others even when she was going through vulnerable rough patches herself. She took time to go take care of her sick father in ICU, never overstepping her role as a nurse student yet keeping abreast of what was happening with him regards to labs, treatment and nursing care, encouraging him to never give up and get well with constant positivity and prayers. She made it through the sixth quarter of the nursing program stronger, wiser, and more determined. I would trust myself under her care.

During her time in clinical Kelly exemplified what it meant to be a student nurse. She came to every clinical equipped with a smile and a positive attitude. Her compassionate demeanor left a lasting impression on her patients, the staff, and myself. Kelly was always willing to learn new skills and met each challenge head-on and is therefore very deserving of The DAISY Award
