My husband became unresponsive so I called 911 and we were transported to Mercy Fairfield. As we arrived, my husband began moving somewhat while they assessed him, he needed a CT scan. Once he was stabilized, they came and retrieved me. When we got to the room my husband had fluid in his mouth. Kelly swabbed his mouth and they were going to start fluid but when they raised his bed his blood pressure began dropping. The tech told Kelly his blood pressure, as Kelly looked she stated it was just 90. She recognized he was having difficulty breathing. Kelly had the tech call the pulmonary doctor. While the doctor was explaining the procedure, they were preparing to put the ventilator in, showing great team work. It took an experienced team; we had seconds, not minutes.
