I came into this hospital sick, kind of disoriented. I found out my sugar skyrocketed, so I was admitted. The first day of seeing the Dr, I felt belittled as he looked at none of my past. Lose weight, you're too big, you gotta lose weight - everything he said meant I was doing nothing right. The second day, the same thing, and I got angry, snappy, and very emotional.
After the doctor left, Nurse Kelly hung back, supported and listened to me. She knew I felt unlistened to. She heard me out and went into action by pushing to get things done because she believed in me. I felt like she was the only one to hear me and actually care. With her pushing to get things done, it was found that I had a stroke that was messing with me. Her bravery and loyalty to her patient may have saved my life because that Dr. was going to release me with a sugar level above 200 and me still dizzy and weak. This hospital needs more Nurse Kellys not afraid to fight for their patients.
Thank you, Miss Kelly Neff, for believing me and not giving up on me. You are an inspiration, and I hope others look up to you. Thanks for being my voice. My whole family, friends, and I are thankful you listened, and thank you for the kind note letting me know that you'll be praying. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
