Kelly was my discharging nurse for the D&C for my first miscarriage and my admitting nurse for my D&C for my second miscarriage. Both of these experiences were pretty horrific and Kelly was tremendously patient, kind, and supportive of me and my husband during our time at MJH. She was respectful of how emotionally draining this time was for us, but was still upbeat and provided a bright spot in otherwise miserable moments in our lives.
Throughout most of my care in addressing my pregnancy losses, I felt a loss of human empathy--friends, family, and doctors treated my physical symptoms, but were afraid to touch the emotional issues with which I struggled. Somehow Kelly was able to provide superb medical care, but she also made me feel safe and grounded in a very tough time.
I don't like to remember these surgeries or my time in the hospital for all the reasons I didn't want to be there, but my husband and I will be forever grateful to the care I received from Kelly.
