Kelly is an amazing leader, where she continually displays support and encouragement for all of her co-workers and acts as a role model for patient care and team work. I am a new nurse and very new to Labor & Delivery. More than any other individual, Kelly showed unbending patience, and made me feel comfortable with my position as a novice, and assured me that I DID have meaningful contributions to make and skills in nursing to deliver great care. I have seen Kelly in the patient rooms with patients (even though she is a charge nurse, she always steps in when necessary i.e. short staffed), and learned A LOT! Her "way" with people is inspiring; guiding women to deliver their babies, and communicating with family members respectfully.

One of the best things about Kelly, though, is her attitude. She comes to work to get the job done, but puts us all at ease, even in the face of chaos, with her sense of humor and easy going nature. That can't always be easy to do when you're at the brunt of census stress and unit coordination. Kelly is the nurse I strive to be.
