Kelly Szymanski, RN

I’m not even sure where to begin with Kelly. From the moment she walked into our labor room from our last hug when I was being pushed to my postpartum room, she was an absolute God-send. Kelly helped me in so many ways I didn’t even think a hospital nurse could. I came in with a specific birth plan and she followed it every step of the way. And when steps needed to be altered or changed, she talked me through everything. Explaining all the little details and never letting something just happen.

I remember the moment I had been pushing for 3 hours and Kelly said, “Come on K, you got to do this soon or they will look at other options. So, let’s go girl, you got this.” I wouldn’t have been able to deliver my beautiful healthy baby girl after pushing for 3.5 hours without her. Kelly held my hand and never let me feel alone in the medical process. Kelly knew what my birth plan stated and she advocated for me at any given moment. You don’t always find such a great nurse but man, that day I got so lucky with Kelly!

I truly believe my birth would have ended in my worst nightmare of a c-section without her. After the fact she made the cutest poster calling me and my daughter rock stars. She made sure to go the extra mile when we asked her for anything such as putting our little girl's feet into our baby book. Kelly is top notch the best nurse I have ever had. Since giving birth in July, I have been trying to figure out a way to repay Kelly for all that she did for me and my little family. When my midwife told me about this program, I knew this was it! I wouldn't be the same person I am today with my healthy baby girl, without her. Thank you!
