She went beyond the call of duty to make sure that our baby, my husband, and I were comfortable and had what we needed during this stressful time.
Kelly received two nominations:
The first nomination read: What can I say about this extraordinary nurse. She went beyond the call of duty to make sure that our baby, my husband, and I were comfortable and had what we needed during this stressful time. Because of COVID, there were times when we were not allowed to physically hold our baby however Kelly would check to see if she was holding the baby the way we want to. Her sincere and compassionate care is far more than what we had ever expected. Nurses really are heroes especially during this pandemic and someone needs to build a statue dedicated to them but have Kelly as the model for it. Thanks for the BEST nurse!
The second nomination stated: There are good nurses and there are great nurses. Kelly is a great nurse. She always asked if I needed anything and made me feel cared for while taking exceptional care of my daughter. I could go into all she does but that would end up being a novel. There are two instances that stuck out and made me so grateful she was our nurse. The first was the look on my daughter’s face sucking her binky, looking around, and sitting on Kelly's lap while she charted. It was comforting to me as a mother that my child was in good hands and that made my week. The second time was when Kelly picked up that I had a bad day and when I did not show up in the NICU, she called me not only to update me on my daughter but to see if I was okay and if I needed anything. Even though my daughter was her patient, she was looking out for me too which gave me confidence and assurance that it was okay to leave my baby with her. She is a BLESSING and I am forever grateful.
