Kelly was on duty through the night, caring for my grandmother who is on hospice. I stayed at the bedside and Kelly was exceptionally considerate of our needs. She consulted me on my preferences for care and made sure to tell me what she was doing each time she approached my grandmother. When she needed more space while I dozed in a chair next to the bed, she unlocked the bed and pulled it away from me instead of rousing me and asking me to move. Mostly, Kelly was friendly and considerate. When she found me awake in the middle of the night, she chatted with me about nursing, life, and the dying process. We shared stories of sentiments and it was a therapeutic process. I appreciated having someone to talk to at that late hour after the rest of the family went home. Kelly is a bright young nurse with a meaningful career in her future.
