My father became a patient in the DHU ICU after having a cardiac arrest and going over 20 minutes without a pulse on October 20th. Kelly was his nurse the night of his second arrest and helped save his life again. On 11/7 Kelly eased our minds about a medication needed for my father that allowed him to rest well for two days and be extubated for the 2nd time on 11/9. As dad's nurse that night on 11/7 she went above and beyond making sure dad was clean and comfortable. After Dad moved to PCU Kelly came to see how dad and I were doing and even called me herself when Dad had an incident which required RRT response on 11/16 to tell me the details and that we could go back to sleep without worry. Kelly's exceptional levels of care and compassion and her willingness to go above and beyond helped give dad a future and helped his family cope with a traumatic and stressful period.
