Kelly worked closely with a very difficult patient who was very ill. There were no medical interventions that could save the patient's life. Kelly supported the patient in coming to terms with her condition and facilitating her transition to comfort care. On the patient's last day in the hospital Kelly brought her children to the hospital to brighten the patient's spirits.
