Kelly is an exceptional clinician and is a member of the Pediatric Transport Team. In addition to her transport duties, Kelly also serves in many roles of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit: Relief Charge Nurse, Preceptor, Cardiac Nurse, and Resource. Her positivity and willingness to "do the right thing" is evident in her interactions with patients, families, and associates of the hospital. She recently transported an ECMO referral patient to the Children's Hospital, who was successfully cannulated on arrival. The patient did extremely well and is since off ECMO and recovering. Because of her dedication to the patient, Kelly contributed to the positive outcome of this patient and I very much appreciate her commitment to the children of South Texas.
