Kelsea adapts to emergent situations easily and remains a calm leader during codes in the unit.
Since starting as NNPs at TWHT, we recognized that Kelsea was a good resource to her fellow coworkers and readily available to answer questions. Kelsea adapts to emergent situations easily and remains a calm leader during codes in the unit. In addition, Kelsea consistently seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and better her skill set.

Kelsea has been instrumental in helping us build the cardiac program in the NICU. When Kelsea joined the cardiac team, her interest sparked dedication and she went above and beyond to help implement the cardiac guidelines. In fact, she took it into her own hands to make a "Nursing Admission Form" that aligns with the cardiac admission guideline. By creating this form, she streamlined the admission process to ensure that nurses knew the task that needed to be completed upon a cardiac admission.

On admission of a cardiac infant, Kelsea always shows up and ensures that the new cardiac admission form is being used and aids in admitting the patient. Kelsea reaches out to the cardiac team to update us on any concerns that may arise. She attends all cardiac education and is one of the main cardiac resources for nurses.

Kelsea fosters good relationships with parents and is a patient advocate for her infants. In fact, leaders and parents request her to take care of critical babies because of her ability to explain the plan of care and the exceptional care she gives her patients. She is thorough in her care and during presentation of her patients during rounds. Her safe and compassionate care makes parents comfortable in an extremely stressful environment. She always advocates for the best care for her patients and makes sure that their parents are part of her rounding process. Kelsea is truly a great example of great skills, talent, care, and kindness. Her daily leadership and care for infants are greatly appreciated and recognized.
