A patient in the unit had been on CRRT for over 2 weeks and during this time, Kelsea was one of her main care providers. The patient’s condition was not improving so the family eventually decided to place the patient on hospice and soon after, the patient passed away. After the patient’s passing, one of the family members recalled a blanket that was lying over the patient for many days during her hospitalization. It was soon realized the blanket was missing and Kelsea was devastated. She happened to have the same blanket at home and knew where it was purchased. After not being able to find the blanket, Kelsea called her significant other and had him go to two different stores in town to see if the blanket was in stock. Sadly, it was not. Kelsea felt awful about the missing blanket, so she decided to order the exact blanket and have it shipped to the family. However, she did not stop there. Kelsea made it her mission to find this blanket, so began calling our linen headquarters in Michigan. She spoke directly with the supervisor of the linen department to see if they could help find the blanket. Guess what?? They found it!! This family was grateful beyond words for Kelsea’s hard work and dedication, not only to their mother in her time of need, but also her dedication to the whole family during such a hard time.
