Several years ago, Kelsey Burns had a pediatric patient that had multiple surgeries within a year's time. The young patient had a different surgeon each time. The only consistent person throughout their year-long ordeal was Kelsey. On the last surgery for that year, Kelsey was not scheduled to work but came in specifically to care for this pediatric patient and their parents.
Recently, this child had to come in for a revision. Kelsey did not hesitate to drop what she was doing to take care of this child and family once again. The family was very relieved that Kelsey had come to care for them again. The family still has the stuffed animal that Kelsey purchased for their child when they came in for the very first surgery.
