Kelsey’s most transformative impact has been in her complete reimagining of our medical-surgical nursing orientation program.
Kelsey possesses an extraordinary foresight, proactively addressing potential challenges before they manifest into larger problems. This proactive approach ensures our nursing teams are not just reactive but are thoroughly prepared, fostering a culture of readiness and resilience.
Kelsey’s most transformative impact has been in her complete reimagining of our medical-surgical nursing orientation program. She recognized the need for a dynamic and future-focused approach, spearheading initiatives that have revolutionized how we onboard and develop our staff.
Kelsey championed the integration of technology to capture competency and skill attainment. This moves beyond traditional checklists, providing insights into professional growth and ensuring new hires are truly proficient.
Under her guidance, the orientation features were enhanced and became more high-fidelity simulations. These immersive, real-world scenarios allow new nurses to hone critical decision-making, communication, and technical skills in a safe, controlled environment, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
Understanding the vital role of mentorship, Kelsey implemented robust preceptor engagement strategies. She has empowered our experienced nurses to effectively guide, teach, and nurture the next generation, ensuring a supportive and highly effective learning environment.
This work will be presented nationally as it has been accepted for a podium presentation at the Society for Pediatric Nursing Annual Conference in April of 2026.
Kelsey’s passion and dedication not only equip our nurses with the best possible training but also create a ripple effect of improved patient outcomes, and for that, we are honored to recognize her.
