Kelsey was nominated by the majority of her classmates. Her peers witnessed her demonstrating the characteristics of a DAISY recipient consistently throughout the nursing program.  Kelsey is quite passionate about the homeless. For instance, in preparation for her preceptorship, she visited a desperate area to gain more insight by speaking with the locals. She wanted to understand by listening to their stories directly. This builds trust and allows her to properly advocate for her patients of this population. Kelsey is always enthusiastic and ready to lend a helping hand. She's reliable and not to mention brings baked goods to clinical! Her nurses, patients, and fellow students all love her.
In addition, Kelsey is truly humble with everything she does. Not only does she love getting to know her patients, classmates, and professors via her strong communication style, this amazing strength of hers allows her to help those in need. She's kind, gentle and confident. Kelsey will play a vital role in any nursing setting she pursues in the future.
