June 2026 Honoree
Kelsey Edwards, RN
My wife and I unexpectedly got moved to St. Francis from Martin Army Community Hospital after going to the same OBGYN for the duration of the pregnancy. As this is our first child, we were both a bit upset about that and were very nervous.
Immediately getting to the hospital, though, we knew we were in great hands. At one point, Nurse Kelsey came into our room and introduced herself. She was genuinely kind, caring, and was there to help my wife in every single way possible.
After 52 hours from being induced, Kelsie did everything she knew how to do to have my baby delivered naturally. She sat down with my wife and explained to her that she was willing to keep trying for a natural birth but believed a cesarean was probably the best idea. Once again, she was so loving and kind when talking to my wife.
She came into our room and supported my wife through the C-section and continued to check on us after we were moved to the MBU. Words cannot explain how genuinely happy I am with every single nurse and doctor at the place, but Kelsey really went above and beyond.
I can truly say that if the world had more Kelseys, we would be in a much better place.
