Kelsey is an Extraordinary Nurse who treats her patients with compassion and professionalism. Kelsey began my care with a cheerful disposition and a clear confidence, making me feel at ease under her guidance. Kelsey was in and out of the room until she noticed my contractions were causing baby's heart rate to drop. She acted calmly, informing me that she was contacting my OB, but did not hold any concern in her voice so I could remain relaxed. As she continued to monitor baby, she did not hesitate to reach out for help. She was diligent in speaking with my doctor a few times, again without raising alarm.
When my labor started moving quickly, Kelsey reassured me that I was doing great and was a reassuring physical presence by my side. Meanwhile, I learned later that she was also calling in a number of medical professionals to help, though I was not aware of it until their arrival. She communicated my wishes and medical needs to all of them. Her balance between delivering clear medical instructions to her team and acting as a supportive and gentle coach to me was amazing. I cannot imagine having better care under another nurse. All moms who deliver under her care are very fortunate. I hope all nurses can strive for the attributes she brings to the job. It is clear that Kelsey has a passion and talent in her career. Thank you, Kelsey, for caring so well for mama and safely bringing my baby girl into this world.
