There is no doubt that her deft and compassionate care prevented our patient’s deterioration
Kelsey and I received a patient from an outside hospital that was very ill from the moment he arrived. Kelsey went above and beyond any reasonable expectation for the entirety of the night shift. She was the best partner I could have asked for in the many tense moments that defined our shift together. There is no doubt that her deft and compassionate care prevented our patient’s deterioration and need for intubation and ICU transfer. She was a constant and reassuring presence at his bedside. Because this was during a night shift, it is a shame that the patient’s family was not present to see how lucky he was to have Kelsey as his RN.
