I needed to visit the ER department as I had fallen during the snowstorm that night. I fell and knew something was very wrong with my left ankle, foot, and leg.
We ended up having to take the side-by-side to the ER from our farm because of the weather. My husband had called ahead to let them know we were on our way.
When we arrived, Kelsey greeted us very warmly, was friendly, and reassured us that they were going to take great care of me and get us the help we needed. I ended up having both a broken fibula and tibia.
She was very attentive to all of my pain, worries, and overwhelming feelings. She closely monitored my comfort level and worked with the doctor to ease it as much as possible.
Kelsey was very good at sharing what was happening, what was going to happen, and how it would happen. She made sure my husband knew what was going on, what they were giving me, and that he was comfortable as well.
Once they had the pain under control, X-rays completed, and then splinted and wrapped, Kelsey followed up with what our next steps were. I would need to contact the Orthopedic surgeon the following Monday.
She also made sure I had everything that I would need for the remainder of the weekend, which was a walker, crutches, pain medication, nausea medication, and all needed instructions.
She went over all of this information with my husband and me to ensure we knew the details of what to do.
I cannot say enough about Kelsey’s care and compassion.
