Kelsey helped bring my mother hope, health, and laughter that promotes healing. My mother had been admitted with dangerously low sodium and potassium levels from an adverse reaction to a prescribed diuretic. Confused and frightened by the effects of dehydration, Kelsey respectfully explained why my mother was feeling confused, and communicated thoroughly all aspects of testing and treatment. She also looked up answers to all questions, gave supportive, responsive care, and engaged in interesting conversations. Kelsey introduced fellow workers and explained their roles in helping my mother. At shift changes she introduced new staff and their credentials. She explained shift activities in case decisions were needed based on outcomes or lack thereof. After 36 hours, my mother's sodium levels were improving as were her spirits and those of her family members, who had been by her side. While she was not fully well and remained in the hospital for another week, we felt confident that with the care and professionalism exhibited by Kelsey, she would leave healed and a happier person overall.
