I really struggled initially to find the right words to tell you all how truly amazing Kelsey is. She has been my nurse in the clinic for the past 1.5 years but my former partner's nurse longer. She & I have worked side by side over the past 5 years. Kelsey is the most thorough nurse I have ever seen! It is no wonder that she is assigned to train all of our new LPNs, CMAs, and NAs. She mentors new employees and also helps our college students understand the role of our nurses. Kelsey takes tremendous pride in her work. She follows up with patients in a very timely manner. I just had my last patient today tell me how much they appreciate Kelsey's quick responses and kind demeanor.

As I stated earlier, Kelsey has been my nurse for 1.5 years. I have grown to trust her judgement, especially when it comes to our ill patients. She is able to quickly evaluate a patient and does not hesitate to let me know if they need to be evaluated immediately. An example is a suicidal patient who returned a PHQ9 assessment and answered positively for self-harm. Kelsey immediately had that patient on the phone and spoke to them with kindness and understanding. She was able to find room in my schedule that same day for the patient. I cannot begin to express how grateful that patient was to Kelsey.

Kelsey really makes my day every day. She is always prepared and positive. She anticipates what I need before I even know I need it. Kelsey has often picked up shifts at other clinics in order to continue to provide top-level care where our patients need it. She really makes my days so much easier.

In conclusion, this wonderful nurse has been nominated for this award several times. She has yet to be honored but I cannot think of anyone, at any level, that deserves this recognition more than her. She encompasses everything CentraCare stands for and promotes.
