Kelsey's nomination came from a family who delivered their third child at NCH. When they were taken up to the fifth floor, they were greeted by the warmest, supportive, and comforting of nursing staff you could ever want, but one nurse stood out above the rest! Kelsey Phelps was so attentive and supportive of not only baby B but treated Mom as if she was family. Kelsey was always gathering information to make sure Mom and Baby were hitting all the required tests, visits, and follow-ups. She made the family feel like they were the only patients within the unit. Kelsey stayed over the end of her shift to attend to Mom to make sure she was healing properly. Finally, on top of all that Kelsey was also fussing over Dad and making sure he had the proper rest, nutrition, and mental comfort to be able to keep caring for Mom and Baby. It's a no-brainer to the family that Kelsey is a DAISY Nurse. They give thanks to the entire staff and an A+ service from the moment we arrived to discharge.
