Kelsey has amazing dedication to her patients and to the families that come through our doors. She is compassionate in being able to connect with patients no matter there age or developmental abilities. She shows her care through attending to the needs of the patient while assessing the overall picture of more complex patients. As one of our families says, "We have never had a more compassionate, knowledgeable and skillful nurse. Kelsey was able to perform treatments on our daughter without her being scared or frightened by her creative and soft spoken words. Made everything easier."
Kelsey serves as a charge nurse on the Neurosciences unit. She is a great resource in caring for sick patiets while also always showing willingess to help fellow nurses with daily cares. She serves as a mentor for many new nurses and students on the unit and demonstrates her expertise in mentoring them to be a well-rounded nurse. She is committed to Children's through the committees that she is a member of as well and working to make a difference for her co-workers everyday.
Kelsey is best described through a patient's family, "No words can accurately describe Kelsey, we had so much trust in her. We were very fortunate to have Kelsey as our nurse. Kelsey definitely deserves the DAISY award."
