We have a patient who has been here for 17 days due to placement. She is a 74-year-old Farsi/English speaking with confusion on and off. The patient can be agitated and calling for a “baby”. Kelsey spent extra time with her, understanding what the patient really needed. The patient wanted to hold a baby or a puppy. Kelsey ordered a baby doll for the patient. That same day, the doll was delivered, and the moment the patient held the baby, she got quiet. I rounded and checked on the patient, and she was smiling. On my second rounds, the patient was asleep, still holding her baby doll. The ACNA mentioned the patient had stated, “I am taking a nap with my baby." This kind gesture truly touches your heart. It meant that Kelsey paid attention to the social needs of her patient.

Thank you, Kelsey, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
