I would like to commend Kelsey. She made a big difference in my brother's care. He was having trouble Sunday night because the oxygen mask being used after his surgery was not functioning well to his needs. He had a rough night getting comfortable and sleeping, and was very frustrated with how he was managed on the night shift. In the morning, I got a call from a family member saying that he wanted to leave AMA. I stopped in to see him just after lunch yesterday. He was tired but calmer. He was talking a lot about what happened last night. And how that it all changed when Kelsey came on shift. He said Kelsey talked TO him, not at him. Kelsey asked about the challenges he was having with the mask. She spent time with him to come up with a solution that would work for him and that they would test it throughout the day so that he was ready by night. I left when they were going to work with him. I went back in a few hours and he was much improved. He was happy and talking about being motivated to get better so he could go to step down. It was like night and day. I cannot say how much I appreciate Kelsey's efforts! You have a superstar with Kelsey!!
