Ken is always described by patients, providers, and co-workers as one of the kindest, most compassionate nurses they have ever known. I have had numerous patients tell me that they have felt treated like they were a member of his family. Ken treats everyone equally and special as if they were a member of his family which is incredible given the demands of multiple patients, tasks, and priorities. Ken couples this foundation of compassion and caring with quality and skill. He is continually striving to improve and is open to feedback. He is excited about change and new opportunities. Ken is committed first and foremost to patients but also offers to assist in any way to support improvement for the department and the system. He has acted as the COVID nurse, been a super-user for EPIC upgrades, a champion for caregiver entered scheduling, and steadfast caregiver, leader, and mentor in the department.

My wife was a patient in the ER and to see the way Ken treated her I thought he was family! He cared about my wife, and it showed in the way he talked and treated her. He was one of the most amazing people I've ever met.

I want to thank you for your amazing care and attention last week. I was in a bit of denial that I was truly experiencing a heart attack and I am thankful that you took my symptoms seriously. You were wonderful and made a very scary experience much less scary. In particular, I appreciate you taking the time to explain to my ex-husband and my kids what was happening so that they weren't freaked out. It was hard for me to accept that I needed to come to the ER; I am so thankful you were there to help me and weren't dismissive in any way.
