September 2025 Honoree
Kendra Hubbell, RN
I have severe mental health troubles, and I've attempted to take my life more than half a dozen times. I have OCD, PTSD, and an anxiety disorder. Kendra went beyond her duty and stood with me, comforted me, made me make sure everything's all right, and she brought me to a place where I was calm and able to get to a point where I was able to get the medication I needed. Without Kendra, I really believe I would've done something to end my life in that moment at that hospital, so because of her compassion, she saved my life. I believe the compassion, empathy, and professionalism that Kendra displays should be taught to every nurse because I've stayed in mental hospitals for 13 months, and I've been in many different hospitals, and I've never met a nurse as caring as she has been. And to be frank, caring is a very loose term for the service that she provided. It's just I can't think of a better word.
Thank you, Kendra, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
