Kendra Lewin, MS, RN, PCCN
Kendra is an exceptional Nursing Director whose vision, compassion, and unwavering commitment to excellence have transformed Unit 3NE into one of the most cohesive and high-performing teams in the organization.
Kendra demonstrates outstanding leadership by inspiring, guiding, and supporting her team. She fosters a culture of collaboration, respect, and professional growth, ensuring that every staff member feels valued and empowered. For example, Kendra established a monthly meeting where nurses share clinical insights, discuss challenges, and identify opportunities for improvement. This initiative has strengthened team communication and boosted staff confidence.
Her open-door policy promotes transparency and trust. Staff consistently feel safe approaching Kendra with suggestions or concerns. On one occasion, when several nurses raised concerns about workflow challenges during high-admission days, Kendra organized an interdisciplinary huddle that improved efficiency and reduced staff stress.
Kendra is equally committed to celebrating her team. Kendra created a “3NE Shout-Out Wall,” where team members recognize one another’s efforts, big or small. This simple initiative has strengthened morale, improved workplace culture, and helped staff feel appreciated and seen.
Under Kendra’s leadership, Unit 3NE has demonstrated measurable improvements in patient outcomes, safety practices, and staff engagement. For example, she partnered with the clinic educator to implement a falls-prevention refresher series, resulting in more consistent safety rounding and stronger interdisciplinary collaboration. She encouraged several nurses to pursue specialty certification and supported them by identifying resources and providing flexible scheduling.
Kendra’s dedication to evidence-based practice, her ability to unite her team, and her unwavering passion for nursing make her a role model to all who work beside her. She consistently elevates the standard of care through professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
In summary, Kendra Lewin embodies the qualities of an extraordinary nurse leader. Her leadership has positively impacted not only her team but also the patients and families who rely on Unit 3NE every day!
