May 2024 Honoree
Kendra McCubbins, RN
My 79-year-old special needs aunt was having surgery for the first time. She was extremely nervous and not processing it well. When the time came to take her to the OR, she broke down and was inconsolably crying. Kendra quietly got a hat and mask and walked back with her until she was comfortable. I have worked in the OR for 16 years I have never in that time seen that happen. It was the most comforting thing to see as a family member - your family getting care and not just it'll be ok.
Thank you, Kendra, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
