This week a mother was admitted to Labor/Delivery for induction for Fetal Demise. It is the staff's job to discuss arrangements for burial with parents. This mother expressed how she would like to have her baby cremated so she could keep the remains, but did not have money for that service. Kendra chose to pay for the cremation with her own money. The nursing and medical staff who were working with Kendra became aware of the situation and donated money to allow this mother to have the private service she desired. Kendra's compassion and selflessness are what the DAISY Award is about.
